There are loads of good ways to show folks that you care, whilst helping to reduce waste & support independent makers. We wanted to shine a light on some cool people making some cool things to inspire the attitude of gratitude ahead of the festive season.
THINGS MADE FROM RECYCLED PLASTIC
ALL DAY GOODS
We’d use All Day Goods all day every day. This year we’re pretty sure they are on everyone’s wish lists! They create one-off knives made from plastic waste. No two handles will ever be the same. As fellow BCorp & 1% For The Planet members, you can trust that if you buy a gift from All Day Goods that you are supporting environmental causes and that they are putting people and planet before profit.
GOMI
Need something to blast your FILL mixtapes on? Look no further. Gomi are based in Brighton and make handcrafted Bluetooth speakers with immersive sound made from recycled plastic. We dig their design philosophy that tech shouldn’t become obsolete. We think in circles and so do Gomi creating modular designs so that they can be fixed instead of thrown away.
MULL CLUB
We go way back with Charlie from when she was a FILL stockist running her zero-waste shop. Now she’s on a mission to transform our broken recycling system. You can send her your waste and she’ll use it to create beautiful, purposeful objects to be used a limitless number of times. Our choice has to be The Greek comb created from old yogurt pots. Wash your hair with FILL Orange Peel Hair Wash & Conditioner for the full Christmas experience then comb it through with this beauty.
WEEZ & MERL
Weez & Merl explore ways to get plastic thought about as a precious material, to stop it ending up in landfills, incinerators and oceans. Using skills learned from the craft of woodworking they work with Low Density Polyethylene, commonly found in carrier bags, bubble wrap and other flexible sheet packaging. We dig that they’re zero waste, remelting and reusing their off-cuts, dust and planing curls. We’re asking Santa for these Mycelium Coasters.

THINGS TO EAT, DRINK, AND BE MERRY
BAD HAND COFFEE
Grab a Cup of Joe for someone this Christmas. Our pals at Bad Hand Coffee have released this blend from El Salvador, Mexico, Brazil and Kenya. It’s chocolately, it’s a little bit fruity, and most importantly, it’s bold enough to stand up to a big old glug of double cream or a dash of brandy on Christmas Day. Plus £1 from every bag is going to help their local homeless charity in Bournemouth.
BLACK LINES DRINKS
The drinks that are trending all over the place. You’ll probably know about this one already… Oatnog! Think Eggnog, but better. Decadent. Creamy. Deliciously dairy-free. Oatnog combines winter spice and buttery rum, for a rich, velvety finish. £1 from every bottle sold is going to Save the Children’s Gaza crisis appeal.
GIPSY HILL BREWERY
Perfectly imperfect beers. Saved from the waste. The classic Gipsy Hill Hepcat is full of vibrant stone fruit and mandarin flavours. Cheers!
